~ About The House of Zed~
The House of Zed really is a house: a smoke-free, dog-filled home workshop. And I am Zed. As a student at Art College, I made garments and accessories for friends and family. Armed with an BA(Hons) degree in Fashion and Textile Design ... well, I started a family and gave up my creative time! It was only later in life that I picked up my crochet hooks again and began making canine coats for local rescue centres. Greyhounds Bob and Billy are modelling some of them here:

The eagle-eyed amongst you may spot that Bob and Billy are wearing leather collars. When they first joined us, I was unable to buy good quality collars that were both stylish and comfortable enough for their long, wide necks. So you could say they were my inspiration. I unearthed my sewing machine and began to produce the martingale collars. I made and donated some to greyhound charities, and then began selling a few on ebay. And the rest I guess is history ... particularly the old sewing machine which just wasn't up to the demands placed upon it: I now use an industrial model!
